Late post ito :) My thesis cheesily entitled Barangay Bahagi made it as a finalist in this year’s Philippine Graphic Design Awards 8D Ang saya ko lang kasi who knew that people would share the same sentiments as I did, more than a year ago when the idea for this thesis suddenly hit me while I was in the bathroom? Thank you lang talaga, Lord! Salamats!

Also, thanks to the friends and teachers who convinced me that this was a project worthy enough to pursue back when I was having a lot of doubts of it being a valid and viable design thesis. Many amazing people and existing works have inspired me to create this project: Sec. Jesse Robredo, Bobby Guev, Jonathan Harris and WeFeelFine, my JTA in Singapore, etc.

I had to let go of many personal aesthetics and eye-candy to make this project, it had to be as utilitarian and as simple as possible. In a way, it was very personal, I love street photography and photojournalism, I’m a supporter of new media, and I’m very adamant about citizen pro-action. But I had a lot of fun designing the interface, researching about collective imaging, patrolling the barangay, talking to the barangay officials, etc.
So there’s this people’s choice contest going on over at FB, so ayun (hehe) plug lang ng sandali. Would you do me a favor and like this link? You can like as many entries as you want. Long shot siya, but at least I tried 8D
So ayun lang :D Like this link? I-like niyo na rin yung kay Noni (Mukha ng Pera), Reese (DIY or DIE), at Sev (Drumocracy)!
